How We Created and Voted on our LGBGTQIA+ Response Statemen
A draft of our statement was presented to the Sabbath Seminars leadership team for consideration. The draft was also read to the class as a work-in-progress statement, and discussion led to further refinement of the statement by the leadership team to a final version, which was presented the following week for a vote to endorse the statement.
The final draft was emailed to all regular class members on Friday the 26th of November for a vote on Sabbath morning, November 27. In-person voting was by secret ballot, and zoom voting required a private message to be sent to the zoom host, who tallied those votes. The outcome was 22 yes, 3 no.
